Get (Ridiculously) Specific [Part 3 Things High Achieving Women Do on the Daily Series]
Woo! Welcome to part 3 of the four things that high-achieving women do on the daily. Today, you are going to get ridiculously specific.
Now I'm going to tell you first what I mean by getting specific and what it is not. I am not going to tell you today, that you have to niche down, now. Or maybe you do? But, everyone has to get hyper-specific on their niche to have momentum. I am not going to say that today you have to have everything perfectly planned out specifically before executing, because done is always better than perfect. Businesses are created in trial and error. That is momentum. You do not get momentum by sitting still trying to find the perfect solution. Everything specific actually means knowing what lights you up and this is a continuous process. Your business, your offers, your expertise are not set in stone. These things will evolve over time and I want to encourage you to allow for that flexibility. In part one of this blog series, we talked about defining success for you and knowing what that means for you. Last week, in part two, we talked about our momentum hour. We are setting high intention for when we are going to work, but it is high intention and low attachment, keeping in mind that things that will evolve over time and they should! They should because you are always growing and as you grow, you will find that serving your clients in these new found intentions is going to allow you to work best for you, therefore having the ability to serve your clients best.
The four things that high achieving women do on the daily are really consistent. They are daily. They are something that you are always checking in on. Asking yourself how you are feeling with the output that you are giving each day? Checking in and being honest with yourself.. is something that you used to do really beginning to drain you? Do we need to shift things a little bit and be brave enough to be honest with yourself?
One of my clients who has gone through the Momentum Restart® is on the creative side in the service provider industry and she has done a really spectacular job of getting super specific. It has been so fun to watch her as she has grown and she has this really wonderful sense of high intention, low attachment ability to listen to herself and know exactly what she wants. At one point, she was doing long term, creative projects for people and she thought this was going to be what she would do long term. However, she then noticed, when she was in it, she was getting really stressed out about these projects. Though she thought they were exactly what she wanted to be doing, they caused her a lot of anxiety while doing them. They just sort of hung over her head. What I loved about working with her was her willingness to adjust and not quit. She never threw in the towel. She didn’t say, “this is terrible, I am going to quit.” Instead, she focused on getting really specific, like, ridiculously specific about what parts of her job lifted her up and when she focused on that, it changed everything. She changed her offers to what she wanted to do, and what aligned with how she wanted to work with her body, not against it, just like we talked about in last week’s blog post, the momentum hour. Her business has thrived because of these changes and she now has the space and freedom to enjoy her life; because not only is her business thriving, but it feels good and she is loving how her business is set up in a way that honors her values and how she is uniquely made.
If you haven’t had the chance yet, make sure you read through the last two weeks of blog posts. The first one is defining success and what that means to you. You've got to know what your values are so you know what to put the spotlight on, on your to-do list and let everything else fall away. The second one is all about the momentum hour and making sure to work with your body instead of against it, so you can have more momentum in a way that feels free. Now moving into today, we are getting super specific in what lights you up and being brave enough to be honest with yourself about what drains you. This is a key piece to Momentum Restart® in the CEO accelerator. It's not something we just touch on once. We're constantly looking at this because, again, your business is evolving as you grow. To build a business that aligns with your values and create a schedule that works with your body in doing what lights you up is only possible when you have CEO strategy that prioritizes CEO self-care. You've got to have both. So today, download that mini journal if you haven't yet. You can grab it on my website at coachamberb.com and tag or DM me on Instagram and I'll make sure to send it to you.
I want you to really pay attention to how you feel while you are working on projects this week. From the moment you started reading this post today, you probably already know or have that gut feeling of something that is just hanging over your head. You know best.. You love key pieces to what you do, but there is a certain part that you may not be able to stand.
I will give you an example for myself. I have been doing 90 Day Done for You plans for the last year and half. I love, love, LOVE the call where we get to plan this out together. Jennifer Sise, who we do Restart Collective Retreats together with, she asked me on a retreat lately.. When I was looking at my offers and she said, “Well, What do you like about doing the 90 day plan?” I quickly replied. I love the call. I love being on this extended call, allowing for you, the client, to be able to dig into what your five year vision looks like. Helping you shed light on how much more freedom is possible for you and your schedule to give you relief. I can literally feel the relief on the other endof the call as we talk through their 90 day plan. She then asked me, “What don't you like about it?” What I don’t like about it is putting the actual plan together. I love doing it side by side with a client. I love taking a ball of tangled mess and giving order to it. That is something that really lights me up, but I love doing it with a client, NOT on my own. So, I have adjusted this year. Going into the CEO Accelerator, bringing back the Momentum Restart® we are keeping the 90 Day Plan, but instead of done for you, so that this is hanging over my head after our call, and I have to create the project without having you there for feedback, we are going to adjust and turn it into a done with you.
So now, when we are going through the Momentum Restart® you are learning the rolls, I am there with you and I am coaching and teaching you. Teaching is my passion. I have been a teacher for 20 years. I can see for you, and for my clients that you will get the most out of your 90 day plan, when you are right there with me being involved in planning it out. I don’t want to just create a plan, put all of my heart and soul into it, hadn it over to you and not have you use it. So, shifting and evolving and being brave enough to say, hey, I really love this part of the 90 day plan, but I don’t like this part because it isn’t working as well, but this part over here is really thriving! So, let’s take that and put it into what I also love, which is the group program, Momentum Restart® Accelerator, where I get to create a done for you plan, with you, a done with you 90 day plan and teach you how to do it yourself long term which is my ultimate goal!
When you are able to get super specific on what lights you up and can be brave enough to be honest with what drains you, you are going to feel so much freedom. I would love to hear from you, as you are working or maybe you even already know what it is.. What are the things that light you up? Take a peek at page 8 of your free mini journal, there you will be able to start a list of what lights you up, what drains you and let’s start getting super specific about what you want to do. I am excited to connect next week as we dive into the fourth and final step of the four things that high-achieving women do on the daily when we create a plan.
