Define Success to You [Part 1 Things High Achieving Women Do on the Daily Series]
What happens when you define success for you?
This is part one of a four week series based on the four things high achieving women, like you, should be doing on a daily basis. So that you can experience a taste of Momentum Restart® - the all new CEO accelerator. Ultimately, this series is a chance for you to re-center yourself and your business so that you can set you up for a successful next quarter.
If you haven't yet, grab the free mini journal to accompany this four week series and get the most out of this incredible life changing resource here.
Here is what happens when you don't have a clear definition of what success means to you.. You end up wasting your time by trying to do everything; and you are trying to do everything that everyone else is doing. But you are not them. You're you. You have your own unique set of values and those values are what defines your success to you.
I want to give you permission today to let go of what everyone else says your success should be. Take the time to pause and look into what it means to you to be brave enough to own it. This perspective of having your own definition of success is going to determine how you will best spend your resources like time, energy and money.
So it all starts here... My husband, my boys and I drive from Minneapolis to Colorado every summer and if you look at a map, you will see that from Minnesota to Colorado, ultimately, we just drive West and we will eventually hit a mountain range and we will turn South and eventually will arrive in Colorado. But.. if you have ever traveled a long distance with two kids in the backseat who have the energy level of Sonic and they are all hyped up on treats and travel excitement, getting to your destination in the most timely manner so that you can get out of the car and actually enjoy what you’re after is going to be very important to you.
The same goes for mapping out your business strategy. Your business strategy should be built based on where you want to go. If your strategy is built on someone else's values, you're only going to end up exhausted. A strategy built to direct you toward the life that you want unapologetically. That is the strategy that puts the spotlight on your priorities.. The needle movers, and from there, everything else just falls away. Those long to-do lists are the spotlights of what needs to be done, so that the weight and pressure of needing to do everything can fall away.
In the Momentum Restart® CEO Accelerator, we begin with determining what success means to you. This is where that free mini journal will come in especially handy. On page 6 of the journal, you are going to spend some time answering this question. I encourage you to really set aside some time to breathe into this.. Close your eyes and listen to what comes to you.. What does this question mean to you, and what answers come to mind for you? Reading through these questions on page 6 of the mini journal will give you a glimpse into what we walk through in Momentum Restart®. We begin by putting our hand on our chest, taking a deep breath, calming our nervous system and focusing inward so that we are sure to tune out any noise telling us to focus on anything other than what success means to us individually. The answers to these questions are going to come to you. When you slow down, take a deep breath and remember what your ultimate vision is, your values and what you want your life to look like are going to come to you.
These questions that we are referring to came straight from my 90 day planning sessions, which are a key piece of the Momentum Restart® Accelerator. I had a client tell me that this exercise showed her so much about herself that she did not even realize. It was just right there under the surface, and it gave her so much freedom once she had the ability to see it. It showed her the strengths that she had within her, it showed her the fears that were holding her back from going all in, in her business and ultimately, after this planning session, she was confident and ready to go all in on her passion project and her new business.
THIS is the confidence and momentum that you can have in your business and your life. These are the practices that high achieving women return to on the daily. This is not a one and done. This is something that you will want to have in front of you and focus on.
When I create 90 day plans with my clients, I encourage them to print them out and have your five year vision visible on your desk, or your mirror, somewhere that you will see every day and it will put a spotlight on what is really important and what you can allow to fall away. You are strategizing with a priority on YOUR values, no one else's. Not values that you feel like you should have, or have been told are important. You will be honoring the real values that you have identified are inside of you and most important to nobody but you.
This month's blog posts are for you.. The women who run the world. The women who know that personal growth and self-care are keys to success. Over the next few weeks, I will dive into each of these four things that high achieving women do on the daily. These are the pillars of the Momentum Restart® CEO Accelerator, and I invite you to get the most out of this free series and training by downloading the free mini journal and, today, mapping out what success looks like to you. And from there, put it out there, be the leader that you are and go first. Inspire someone else. Dare to build a business around values. Unapologetically point yourself toward your unique vision of success. I can’t wait to connect next week when we dive into Uncovering Your Momentum Hour.
